Las Cocinas Mexican Restaurant: A Taste of Authentic Mexican Flavors in Bastrop

Very nice restaurant we stumbled upon out here in Bastrop Food is served hot and well made. Unfortunately they don't serve breakfast, only lunch/dinner. Wonderful atmosphere. Same polite friendly waiter both times. Definitely recommend!! We sure will be back 10

Just got food to go from here again, we have tried so many things and have also been inside to sit and eat. Keep to the simple stuff. Just got the fried avocado and it’s not a whole avocado… it’s a lot of cheese with a half of an avocado and some chopped chicken. Wasn’t my favorite thing but still had flavor if you like a lot of cheese. I do like some of the food and it is always super hot and fresh but it is just not the best in town and is kind of expensive as well as this restaurant is not open on a Saturday when we most want to go which is a bummer. We have tried the beef enchiladas, carne guisada, the chicken soup, the fried avocado, all kinds of tacos and much more so we have given this place a chance and our favorite things have been the chicken soup, carne guisada and the beef enchiladas!

We've passed by this little restaurant on our way to Elgin several times. This time, we went there for a late lunch. It was a pleasant experience. The food was good, the waitress was friendly. We'll definitely be back.

I have wintered in Mexico for a number of years and this food is better than much of the food I've had there... I was immediately served a basket of tortilla chips and two really excellent salsas - one green and one red...while I only had one dish - the Coctel de Camarón(shrimp cocktail - pictured) based on its perfection, I can highly recommend this restaurant...it has a very large menu which I'm looking forward to trying many of their other dishes...¡Buen provecho!

Great family owned restaurant with authentic Mexican food to savor in every bite. Bright and beautiful restaurant with a friendly staff, clean and a large menu with lip smacking delicacies. I couldn't pick just one - so I split a Chile Relleno and Carne Guisada (Beef Tips). Solid choices. Recommended.

Came here with my parents and fiance, and we all had a lovely time. The food was great, and the atmosphere was really bright. The decor though a little cluttered, was colorful and fit the theme. The food came out very quickly even though the place was busy on a Sunday afternoon. It was hot and delicious. I would definitely recommend this establishment.
